Titanium Bolts

Titanium Bolts have a very good weight/strength ratio. In many areas of application they are a lightweight alternative to classic steel bolts.

Titanium bolts – not least in the two most common variants, Titanium Grade 2 (pure) and Titanium Grade 5 (alloyed) – offer the best ratio of high tensile strength and low weight for many applications.

Due to their low density (approx. 4.5 g/cm2) and the resulting low weight, titanium bolts are approx. 40% lighter than steel bolts. A lower weight can usually only be achieved by using aluminum bolts.

At the same time, they are corrosion-resistant and resistant to chemical influences (acids, alkalis, etc.) and extreme environmental conditions (e.g. salt water). And all this without additional surface treatment.

Titanium bolts are bio compatible and tasteless, non-magnetic, electrically conductive and heat-resistant.

It is also possible to color them without the addition or application of foreign substances.

Titanium (Ti2 / Grade 2 / M.-No. 3.7035)

Pure Titanium Grade 2 is one of the most common materials for manufacturing titanium bolts.

Grade 2 titanium bolts have a rather low tensile strength of ~390-540 N/mm2 and a yield strength of at least 250 N/mm2.

In addition to good corrosion resistance, Grade 2 Gitanium has a good combination of strength, weldability and formability. They stand out due to their biocompatibility and the possibility of cost-effective production.

After head treatment our TC16 / TB5 / TB13 Titanium Bolts do have a tensile strength of min. ~800 N/mm2 and a yield strength of min. approx. 600 N/mm2. They are designed for constant working temperatures below ~300°C.

Their real strength comes into play in the production of large quantities, as they can also be produced using the economical cold forging process.

Titanium (Ti 6Al 4V / Grade 5 / M.-No. 3.7165)

Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) is one of the most common alpha + beta alloys for the production of titanium fasteners.

Grade 5 titanium bolts have a high tensile strength (from approx. 930-1000 N/mm2) and a yield strength of at least 830 N/mm2.

The titanium Grade 5 alloy has an excellent combination of strength, toughness and ductility and is the first choice when the ratio of weight to strength with good resistance to corrosive media is crucial.
